Mac users upgrading to the Catalina need to convert their drives to APFS first. Features added to this new file management system include snapshots, crash reporting, space sharing, and cloning to name but a few. This new file system unleashes the full potential of SSD drives for faster storage, easy retrieval of files, and securing files. In the newest macOS 10.15 Catalina, however, things have changed and now the supported drive types are the Apple File System (APFS) drives. The HFS+ file system is supported by macOS High Sierra and previous releases of macOS and OS X. And more often than not, it results in a continuous and pestering headache more so when copying and transferring files. The problem is, this versatility brings forth incompatibility. Well, this is inevitable considering that we are living at the helm of the golden age of information- where different operating systems are an indispensable requisite. I’m impressed with its capabilities.If my instincts are right, you are working or living in an environment that consists of both Windows and Mac computers. Having tried and used many viewer apps on multiple platforms I can say that this utility is a gem worth having on your system. Obviously with some caveats of course, it can’t view absolutely everything biut does most everyday files you will likely use apart from some specific applications. Sure there are some proprietary file types like Visio VSDX or other Visio template files, that it is not currently capable of displaying but for the most part this is an awesome little viewer that can be used in a pinch to view almost anything. Whislt some files are not designed to be viewed the application recognized certain file types even if it cannot view them.

I had success with PDF, Word DOC & DOCX, Excel, PowerPoint PPT & PPTX (scroll and view all slides), JPG, RAW, GIF, PNG, ICS, PAGES, ODT, TAR, TXT, TIFF, ZIP, RTF, MOV (playable), m4a (playable), mp4 (playable), mp3 (playable).
